cover love: big fat manifesto

Disclaimer: I love covers that scream. You might want to cover your ears.

The cover art for Susan Vaught’s Big Fat Manifesto is a declaration all by itself. Smothered with words that strike an emotional and psychological chord, I love how the title pops with its hot pink contrast, but also blends alongside its uppercase cohorts.

Big Fat Manifesto’s cover plays well into my fondness for all caps, simplicity, and monochromatic imagery. I wonder if the graphic designer intended to make me curious to know if there are passionate ideas burning alive within this book’s pages. Was that his or her personal manifesto with this loud cover art?

Well played, Bloomsbury — keep hiring designers to make covers like these and I’ll consider joining your movement…or at least continue to keep ogling your propaganda.
