♪ i get by with a little help from my friends ♪

Okay folks — a little break from my regularly scheduled cover loving/hating, if I may.

For those of you who don’t know, I did a short book video for Daisy Whitney’s The Mockingbirds last year as little joy project.* Well, lo and behold, I got an email from Daisy last Friday saying that it was a finalist in the Justine Spark Reel Book Video Awards. Needless to say, I was really excited.

And for those of you who vote in the contest (whether or not it’s for The Mockingbirds), you’re automatically entered to win an assortment of nominated books! Click on the button below to check out all the nominees. The Mockingbirds is in the “relationships” category.

A few things to note:

  1. Only US/Canadian residents can vote.
  2. Only one vote per category per email address per day is allowed. (Yeah I got a bit confused typing that, too)
  3. The deadline is May 15, 2011. (Therefore, you have approximately 2 eternities to vote)

I’d appreciate the vote, so please do so if you like the video. (Extra special thanks to my dear blogger friend Ginger who’s pimped out the nom all over the internet this weekend) It’s a bit intimidating to go up against a trailer that’s got a hot Latino guy in it. Just sayin.

*For those of you who are curious as to how The Mockingbirds video came to be, here’s a little making-of post.

  1. Voted! Somehow I missed that you had made this video – well done! I’m super critical of book trailers and this is one of the few that has received my stamp of approval. No hot latino men necessary!

  2. That trailer makes me want to get the book now. I’d go and vote for you for the next two eternities, but alas, I am not in US or Canada. I’ll make sure to make my friends there vote for you, though. 🙂 Congratulations! 😀
