meet my IRL bookish friends: hannah & aaron

Woot! Time to introduce you to my next two victims friends! If you missed meeting Ruth & Chanté, be sure to give their mini-interviews a look-see.

I love your sunglasses, Hannah!

Every time you see Hannah, you can’t help but light up into a smile. She’s just one of those kinds of people, you know? After catching The Hunger Games fever from Ruth and coming to our Mockingjay release partay last year, I knew instantly that we’d be solid book Buddies-4-Eva.

1) All-time favorite book (if you have one, or two…or three):

All time favorites, sheesh that’s a tough one. I think Pearl in the Sand, The Hunger Games, and The Compound are at the top of my list as of now.

2) Type of books you like to read:

Young Adult, or Historical Fiction – But I’m open to reading just about anything.

3) Type of characters/stories you like to read about:

I love reading about a strong heroine. But I’m all about a good love story as well. Put them together and I’m a happy girl! I also like coming of age stories.

4) The book you’re constantly peer pressuring your friends to read:

The Hunger Games series, I tell everyone to read those books. I also recommend the Mark of the Lion series if they’re more of a historical reader.

 5) Covers you love (or hate):

I love Pearl in the Sand’s cover, Poison Study and the Thirteenth Tale’s cover.  I absolutely hate the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies cover, it’s just weird. I also do not like The Gardener’s cover, it’s got too much of a Matrix feel.

Aaron

To be honest, I haven’t actually met Aaron in real life. After booknerding it up during our Mockingjay partay (no, apparently I don’t know how to stop talking about our partay BECAUSE THAT’S HOW MUCH FUN IT WAS), my real IRL friend Patch asked if we could share my photos with his long-distance best friend, Aaron. All I knew about Aaron was that he liked books, and favored dystopian. And obviously that’s all you need to achieve friendship status these days (not being a douche certainly helps), which is totally 100% fine with me. (Aaron also tweets and blogs as well!)

1) All-time favorite book (if you have one, or two…or three):

Or in Aaron’s case, 587.

Favorite books? Thats a nearly impossible task. I would say that my short list includes The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, The Shack by William Young, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Dune, The Foundation Trilogy, I Am the Messenger, The Book Thief… and OMG I can’t stop! You see? Totally impossible. So far after reading one and a half of books of George Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series I would say that will be joining this list soon, as well. (See, all of that and I even forgot to include The Bible by God.)

2) Type of books you like to read:

Young adult dystopian, utopian, apocalyptic, fantasy, psychological science fiction.

3) Type of characters/stories you like to read about:

I prefer male protagonists in the YA fiction world because there simply aren’t enough out there. I like smart, witty and tragically flawed characters. Ones who are emotional and act without clearly thinking through a situation. Characters like myself, I suppose.

4) The book you’re constantly peer pressuring your friends to read:

The Hunger Games recently. Still Life With Woodpecker, The Shack and Game of Thrones depending on the person’s taste.

5) Covers you love (or hate):

I can’t say that I really pay too much attention to book covers (please don’t throw anything at me). I really like the cover of Still Life With Woodpecker. But most don’t jump out at me as good or bad.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, Hannah & Aaron! I hope you love my friends as much as I do, because there are seven more to go. 😉
