i thought princesses had more manners than this.

I was so close to throwing this cover in the WWYT pile, but the more I look at it, the more I second-guess myself.

But my first reaction? Someone needs to tell that girl to close her legs!

What say you? Are you Team Cute Cover or Team Cover-Up-That-Crotch?

PS: Thanks to Sarah for the heads up on this cover. You can read her review of Just Your Average Princess here.

  1. I think it’s pretty cute. She’s completely covered up by that dress, and I like that she’s sitting in such an unprincess-like position. It’s a little awkward at first, but I don’t hate it.

  2. I get what they are doing here, but I’m not a fan of the straight on crotch shot. That being said, I’m a lot more disappointed in their font choice than their crotch-shot choice. That font, that size, the weird circular look, and the mixing of lower case and uppercase with no rhyme or reason does not make a good title look.

  3. I don’t mind this crotch…is a funny thing to say. I think something about the dress and the boots and the hay bale makes this ok for me? Like my attention isn’t directed at her crotch, so it doesn’t feel like a crotch shot? Something like that. What bothers me is less the crotch and more the awkwardness of the pose, the bow at the front of the dress, and the realization that she’s probably getting stabbed in the ass by that hay. Ouch.

  4. I think I’m ok with the crotch shot…I’ll agree with Em in that my attention isn’t completely consumed by crotch…The bow however, that I’ve got issues with. Nothing like a bow covering up her unmentionables, lol. Maybe it’s a statement…

  5. I actually like it because she’s so NOT a Princess in this shot – it’s ironic. I hope that’s what they were going for. I can’t wait to read it!

  6. HAHA. Okay, I admit I giggled when I read this post. I thought the same thing, but at least the skirt of her gown covers up everything. I can’t help but think that the model’s position isn’t the most comfortable.

    • I think it’s good that it caught your attention for sure. I love that you thought of me when you saw this! Look! My incredibly judgmental attitude here does have a sphere of influence! 😉

  7. Don’t mind the open legs; do mind the idea of tender skin on a really prickly hay bale!

Would we be upset by a guy in a tux on a hay bale in the same position? I don’t think so.

  8. Ow, ow ow. Cover up, or better yet, put jeans on, because growing up around farms and going on countless (uncomfortable) hayrides as a kid … I am wincing every time I look at that picture. Seriously. Hay up the hoo-ha – NOT FUN.

  9. Bwahaha I think I love that there is a bow right smack in between her legs the best. As a general rule in life, I am team Shut-Yo-Legs-Girl.
