In My Mailbox (imm) is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. Kristi rocks.
As someone who doesn’t frequently get books in the mail, I tend to freak out whenever I do. Because hello, yay books right? The batch that I received recently all happen to be gifts from a few lovely, wonderful, and generous people. Know that I’m refraining right now from filling this white space chock full of capital letters. It’s not the norm, friends.
Ten Things We Did (Sarah Mlynowski) – from Jen at Makeshift Bookmark. Jen told me this book totally cracked her up. Jen makes me laugh on a daily basis, so when Jen sends me a text about a book that makes her laugh, know that it’s only right for me to read that book. Thank you, Jen!
Boy21 (Matthew Quick) and Shut Out (Kody Keplinger) – from Sarah at YA Librarian Tales. I’ll admit, I fell for Boy21’s cover (SURPRISE SURPRISE) and was completely intrigued by the synopsis. Side note — those are intimidating looking faces, no? Thank you, Sarah!
About a year ago, my good friend Lauren (who you’ll meet on the blog in a few weeks) asked me, “I really want to read Raw Blue. Have you heard of it? It was published in Australia.” Okay, just know that any book Lauren mentions to me automatically sends me into Curiosity Mode (I have her to thank for bringing me back into the world of reading, after all). A few months later, The Bridge popped up on my radar as well. Out of the kindness and goodness of her heart, my lovely friend Adiba not only sent me both novels, but also another book I hadn’t heard of – A Straight Line to My Heart. She’s 5-starred it on Goodreads, so I’m really pumped to read it.
Also, it was my favorite cover (although The Bridge runs a close second) out of my mailbox keep.
Thank you so much, sweet friends. You’ve made my mailbox so happy. =)
