imm (7)

In My Mailbox (imm) is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. Kristi rocks.

As someone who doesn’t frequently get books in the mail, I tend to freak out whenever I do. Because hello, yay books right? The batch that I received recently all happen to be gifts from a few lovely, wonderful, and generous people. Know that I’m refraining right now from filling this white space chock full of capital letters. It’s not the norm, friends.

Ten Things We Did (Sarah Mlynowski) – from Jen at Makeshift BookmarkJen told me this book totally cracked her up. Jen makes me laugh on a daily basis, so when Jen sends me a text about a book that makes her laugh, know that it’s only right for me to read that book. Thank you, Jen!

Boy21 (Matthew Quick) and Shut Out (Kody Keplinger) – from Sarah at YA Librarian Tales. I’ll admit, I fell for Boy21’s cover (SURPRISE SURPRISE) and was completely intrigued by the synopsis. Side note — those are intimidating looking faces, no? Thank you, Sarah!

Raw Blue (Kirsty Eager), A Straight Line to My Heart (Bill Condon), and The Bridge (Jane Higgins) – from Adiba.

About a year ago, my good friend Lauren (who you’ll meet on the blog in a few weeks) asked me, “I really want to read Raw Blue. Have you heard of it? It was published in Australia.” Okay, just know that any book Lauren mentions to me automatically sends me into Curiosity Mode (I have her to thank for bringing me back into the world of reading, after all). A few months later, The Bridge popped up on my radar as well. Out of the kindness and goodness of her heart, my lovely friend Adiba not only sent me both novels, but also another book I hadn’t heard of – A Straight Line to My Heart. She’s 5-starred it on Goodreads, so I’m really pumped to read it.

Also, it was my favorite cover (although The Bridge runs a close second) out of my mailbox keep.

Thank you so much, sweet friends. You’ve made my mailbox so happy. =)

  1. Those look amazing! I just read Sorta Like a Rock Star by Matthew Quick and he’s definitely a must read for me now. I can’t wait to read Boy21! I really want to read Shut Out and Raw Blue too. I’m just waiting with bated breath for Raw Blue to be published in the States.

  2. love the cover shots in the end…
I have a few of these that I want to check out soon. I hope you enjoy reading them!

    My IMM!

  3. Man you got some really good books this week. Come visit me over at Livre De Amour-Books of Love Blog. Hope you enjoy them. Some of them I’ve never heard of.

  4. Oh cool, Raw Blue. I really want to read that, but I’m waiting to borrow Chachic’s copy, which she’s passing around. 😀

  5. Boy21 Boy21 Boy21 Yay!!! Teensy bit jealous.
And I’m kinda digging the cover for The Bridge. I would pick that one up probably based on the cover alone, which is typical of me with an excellent cover.
A Straight Line to My Heart has a pretty cute cover, although it looks exactly like something I have done in times past in class or in church while I’m TOTALLY LISTENING and doodling only mindlessly, I swear it.
